Need I say more? This is the third time, it's been more time at the repair-shop then it's being enjoyed in a productive process. In the end the camera never came back from the repair shop even though it had garantee. Never buy at a webshop that offers "grey" import products.

in 2006 I bought a new telephone, my old contract expired and I had to renew. What to do? Renew and keep my old phone with no camera? Or buy a reasonably new and up to date one with a new contract that can communicate wireless with my laptop and make photo's and some video? So I decided upon the Nokia 6230i. Not the most advanced but it is a small and easygoing phone and makes it possible to document "stuff", and act like a back-up for my video camera. Find it quite funny how the "buzz" tries to keep up with Chopin.

I have never seen these Elephants in Artis Zoo (Amsterdam) this happy. I filmed them after they were hosed down by their keepers. Artis is an historical Zoo and they are very slow in modernizing the way they keep animals. They say because of lack of space and money but I think they should learn to prioritize. It's a crime that the Elephants have as much space as the Pelicans.

I wanted to make this movie more than a month ago. Telling you that spring came a month earlier that last year. It now is an ode to spring, the celebration of life on the Josef Israelskade in Amsterdam. I ride though this street, on my bike with my two boys, almost daily for 3 years now and at the beginning of spring I become very very happy and drive as slow as possible. The music is from cbk at ccmixter.com. The movie is a 180 MB and 5m20s celebration of sun, flowers, water, people and birds. For those who are gifted with time and patience. Enjoy. Have had this piece of film on my computer for some time now. Couldn't resist. I know Frank from way back on the AKI, the Enschede Academy of Visual Arts (1991-1997). In the second year he got caught by the super8 bug and it never left him again. Today he has his own company developing and digitizing super 8 / 16 and all kinds of special celluloid for clients all over Europe. On my two super 8 film I wanted digitized there was some seconds left and he couldn't resist, and I thank him for that. Love this spontaneous action in his kitchen to get enough light. Where, on a rare occasion, I'm in front of the eye... nostalgia...

This is my first Lumiere. Somewhat after the hype but the moment didn't present itself any sooner. I've seen about 30 or so Lumieres and I got the feeling that people take the best minute (or less) out of many. So I intended to make a statement and be even more true to the Lumiere and would really show the moment I hit the record button to the moment it reached the one minute. Film was expensive those days. But like anyone else I would record more and make a directors cut and let people decide which one would be the best, expecting that would be the directors cut. But when I looked at the footage I had to conclude the first minute is it. So I'm happy to be true to Lumiere and at the same time deliver the dc.

I signed up for semanal08. After a forced sabbatical of 5 months I trying to get back on the horse. Hope I will succeed. Today, did three washes, bathed the boys, myself, gave the beds new covers, folded laundry, did the dishes, backed a cake with the boys (see it on twitter, flickr and mobypicture) and posted a video and it?s only 13:30h. Maybe I will pull it of: one video a week.

Me and my (almost) 8 year old son tried the loopingstar at Attractiepark Slagharen. For both of us it was the first time to do a looping. In the end I think the looping itself is more spectacular for the viewer than the participant. The corners of the track, made at high speed, had the most impact on us. Looping being a mentally kick, cornering a physical one. To celebrate our loosing our virginity I bought the video they made.

Went to Spanderswoud this Sunday and we came across this old lane witch was cut off at both ends in the middle of the forest. The children and mostly I was fantasizing about the castle that was there a long time ago and how a prince was riding his horse across this endless lane. Almost all trees had old love declarations on them worn by the weather and the growing of those trees. So I named it Lovers Lane, walking and thinking of all the positive and historical moments they witnessed.

With this video I celebrate my old new vlog. Totally migrated (MT to WP), updated and redesigned. And what better way to celebrate it with a digitized b/w super 8 film I got delivered this week. Thanks to Frank of the super8 reversal lab, an old friend from the Aki, school of Fine Arts. I filmed this on Saint Patrick Day in Cork, Ireland. Studying and exploring the countryside over there. It's a sentimental treasure, because it was a spontaneous - improvised working concept. This is still my method of filming and editing today. It's the biggest trill. Read more on vlog.not-on.tv
